Visiting Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA, Sepang

Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA is the second branded outlet in Malaysia, the first one would be Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) which is in Johor Bahru and I visited JPO exactly 3 years ago. However, Mitsui Outlet Park is a different franchise than Johor Premium Outlet, where Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA is actually part of Japan's beloved luxury goods outlet mall chain, Mitsui Outlet Park  (they have 13 outlets across Japan) and this is their first outlet opens outside Japan, and first one in Southeast Asia. In KLIA, their outlet is a joint venture between the Japanese real estate giant Mitsui Fudosan Co Ltd and Malaysian airports operator MAHB.

It's newly opened in May 2015, having located 60 km from Kuala Lumpur and 6 km from KLIA and KLIA2, Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA is a huge (would be 25,000 square metres once all 3 phases completed) factory outlet mall, so one could expect to shop off-season products from upper-middle to high-end brands like Diane von Furstenberg, Ermenegildo Zigna, Bally, Aigner, Hugo Boss, Timberland, Hush Puppies to sports brand like Nike (the most anticipated brand in here), Puma, Adidas, Porsche Design, Rip Curl and local brands such as Vincci, going for 30 to 70 percent off from their normal retail prices. To see the list of brands that available in Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA, you may visit their website.

As self-proclaimed shopaholic in denial - not yet that Becky Bloomwood situation though - I've always been a bargain hunter/discount hound/benefit seeker/promotion prowler - especially for travel/food/fashion related (which is basically everything fun, right? LOL), that is exactly why I opted to visit Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA (MOP) on my way to KLIA2 airport for flying back home.

I have only less than an hour to visit this outlet before my flight, so I was being strategic about this visit (yup, OCD alert here), I googled blogger reviews before my visit then I went to MOP website and looked up MOP floor map and decided which stores that are mandatory for me to visit.
You could also plan your trip there by visiting their floor map from their website.

My must-go-to stores would be ; Dr. Martens, Timberland (I developed a new interest upon their boots), Superdry, Nike, Mango, Sasa (cosmetic outlet from Hong Kong), Bratpack, Samsonite, Zalora, The Cosmetic Company Store and Esprit.

So what did I found in Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA ?
- I bought several Korean face sheet masks which held a promotion of buy 4 pcs for only RM 10, Sasa sells my new favorite eye-shadow brand; Art Deco (make-up brand from Germany) and many Korean make-up brands.
- Nike's collections are pretty new, they're from circa 2014 and discounted around 30-40 percent off.
- Timberland's promotion is actually better in Lot 10 Bukit Bintang (where they have sale up to 30% when I was there), I was eyeing a pair of red boots where its price tag down to RM 447 in their Lot10 store while in MOP, it was RM 511 (same model/type, same color).
- Dr. Martens held up to 50% off but I don't really like their discounted collections.
Nothing worth mentioned in Bratpack and Samsonite, also Superdry, Esprit and Mango. However Zalora's collection is pretty interesting, I've never known that Zalora has offline stores until I got here.
One of my favorite
Nike store is always busy and has a lot of visitors, the collections are quite new
Above: Universal Traveller - quite interesting collection but still expensive for me
My best finding was actually in The Cosmetic Company Store, as they sell my favorite Cello Shots Cheek Rush gel blush !. The last time I saw this blush on being sold was in The Cosmetic Company Store in Woodbury Premium Outlet New York last year!, I've been searching for that particular item in every single Estee Lauder counters that I could find. But none of them are still selling it, I don't know why. It's a damn good blush-on, you could read its review from one of my fave Malaysian beauty blogger in here.
Having said it was big, but then I managed to circle the mall in less than an hour, so basically I visited all my must-go stores and also some of other stores, especially the Japanese brands such as; Isetan, Melium outlet, and sightseeing in Japan avenue area. Also I went to other stores such as; Rockport, Fila, Camel Active, Hush Puppies, Sketcher (which I'm  regretfully not buying that teal shoes here)
Above: Sketcher shoes are down about 30%
Below : Dr. Martens up to 50% collection
In comparison with Johor Premium Outlet (or any Premium Outlets franchise across the world), Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA looks more like a mall. It's indoor and fully air-conditioned and has a lot of sofas/benches, both have food court but I didn't eat in Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA so I don't have comparison in that area.
Some brands that I would like to see, but not available in Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA, while they're available in Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) are Coach, Kate Spade, Columbia, Fossil, Furla, GAP, Michael Kors, Padini, Rubi Shoes, Swatch, Victoria Secret, Tumi,, Bath and Body Works. So from this point JPO has won, well at least from my perspective.

This is where you could check-in your flight, print boarding pass and store your luggage for free
Due to its proximity to KLIA, Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA provides excellent Shop and Fly facilities such as Flight Check-In Center where you could storage your luggages for free while you wandering/shopping, and also they have several SITA Self Check-in Kiosk machines and PCs with printers for you to check-in your flight and print your boarding pass. There are also some in-mall LED TV displaying flight information system that will let you keep tabs on your flight. You could also book a bus/taxi and car rental from here.

The best thing is, they provide free shuttle bus from Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA to KLIA and KLIA2, vice versa and the bus runs every 20-30 minutes. I took the bus to get me to KLIA 2 and I arrived in KLIA2  in less than 15 minutes ride and it was very convenience.
